I had a chance to meet Alexi Georgoulis, star of My Life in Ruins opposite Nia Vardalos, as he arrived at the Hilton Hotel in Chicago for the Gabby Awards. TK: Is this your first time in the U.S.? AG: No, but this is my first time in the U.S. being in a Greek ceremony. TK: How are you feeling about the Gabby Awards tomorrow? AG: Well on one hand I am excited. And on the other hand I am curious to see how Greeks do things here. TK: How do you think the way Greeks do things here will be different than the way they do things in Greece? AG: I think it’ll be more authentic here. Greeks, when they are out of their home country, they tend to keep Greek tradition and a Greek mentality. They are more proud here. TK: How long are you staying in Chicago for? AG: 3 days. TK: What are you going to be doing in Chicago? AG: I will be going out with my friends Pete and Steve from Portokalada.com TK: Who are you excited to see tomorrow at the Gabbys? AG: Well I am excited to see the very best – Nia Vardalos. And I want to talk to everyone and meet fans. TK: Do a lot of people recognize you now? AG: Sometimes. People will point to me and they say, ‘Hey, I know you.’ And I just try to be calm and take pictures with them. TK: Thanks so much! See you tomorrow at the Gabby Awards. |
